We have had a great time making new friends and staying at
interesting places all due to your wonderful site. We have had many
interesting offers we were unable to accept due to ‘misses’ on
dates, what a pity - sometimes its like a lolly shop with so many
terrific options to choose from... but they don’t always all quite
mesh !! that’s life.
We always reply to the people we can't
assist who contact us (not only the ones in the ‘good’ places that
suit/interest us) and (if we like the sound of the place) ask to be
contacted sometime for next year and to let us know asap.
It is amazing how many people imagine they will find a good
housesitter with

- hey, perhaps a note on your site somewhere about ‘thinking ahead’ for
people who are going away in the future and explaining that sitters
need up to 6 months to work out their itinerary (the good

poor guys, actually going overseas and didn’t plan ahead for
sitters) ...

travels to see the kids reasonable in both time and affordability we

Wow, this worked really well and enabled us to visit but also have a
base away from their hectic lives that we could escape to from time
to time both for their sanity and ours.

Century local pub.
We had a couple from The North of England last year but the snow/ice
was so bad they had to stay in the house for the first 3 days!!

Hello. We are Alan & Chris and we recently had
Frank and Jean house-sit our home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland
for us for 3 weeks while we were away on holidays.
We would like to say what a pleasant experience the whole
arrangement proved to be for us. We found Frank & Jean to be a very
nice couple who were very accommodating and couldn't do enough for
us. They visited us not long after we made first contact with them
via email and phone and we got to know them a little better. We were
also able to show them around our house and we discussed what was
expected from each party to the house-sitting arrangement. They
agreed to tend to the gardens, water our pot-plants
and bonsais, collect our mail,
& look after our pet bird.
And when we returned from our break we
found everything in perfect order and a nice letter from Frank and
Jean waiting for us. Our neighbours have commented on how nice they
were and that they had often seen them both out working in the
gardens. Our pet Galah, Rosie, seems a little spoilt from the
experience.
We would like to thank
Frank and Jean for their wonderful efforts and say that we would
certainly have them back to house-sit again for us in the future.
Our sister and brother-in-law have also said that they would want
them to also house-sit for them next year.

We're currently engaged in caring for an executive property on the
Sunshine Coast, Queensland. A Balinese influence designed home, set
in sub-tropical gardens, with an award winning swimming pool and a
tennis court. A truly peaceful home, with three quality vehicles to
exercise, along with one hilarious dog and a peaceful cat for
company and cuddles. The owners are enjoying an extensive European
tour.
- Immediately prior to this Qld assignment was a repeat assignment,
securing a magnificent 18th century property on east-coast IRELAND.
A twin-manor home set in mature gardens. This was an annual 7-month
long assignment from 2004 to 2010. The owners relocate for lengthy
periods to one of their island properties.
- Prior to Scotland, we cared for a prime SWISS Alps property for 2
months, with two resident cats, and one car to exercise.
- Before the Swiss peaks was a 2 month assignment, occupying an
historic SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS estate manor. This was for repeat
clients who sail the Adriatic Sea and far beyond, quite regularly.
Their remote estate is where Golden Retrievers originate from; in
the mid-19th-century Lord Tweedmouth bred the first recognised
Golden Retriever here on his most northerly British estate. Upon
completion of his palatial highland residence Lord Tweedmouth
launched a grand opening ball by declaring that he would demolish
his house if anyone built a finer dwelling more northerly in
Scotland than his! His particular manor still stands tall to this
day. Mind you, the roof is long gone. The worker's stone cottages
now serve as 4-star guest quarters for keen anglers, hikers, grouse
hunters and deer stalkers who frequent this vast estate.
- Before Scotland, was a 2 month assignment
occupying a tranquil country residence in the Peak District
of northern ENGLAND.
- Prior to Scotland was a 12-month townhouse and German
Shepherd-care assignment in high-altitude Colorado, USA.
- Earlier still, a classic Vaucluse, SYDNEY Harbour property with
uninterrupted harbour bridge views. This assignment required
overseeing a major landscape revamp, plus exercising Jaguar
& VW cars while the owners soaked up a
global tour.
- The list goes on . . .

I chose the couple from Somerville (near Boston) because I wanted to
travel there and asked whether they would
swap. And -- they did !
So we changed the dates to July (was better for both of us) and it
was a real success !
I had a wonderful time in Somerville and they didn't want to leave
here anymore because they felt so good here.
Next year I want to go to New Mexico and I hope to be able to find a

Thanks so much for providing us with this

We hooked up with a fabulous couple (our dates changed to January,
as we had to work around Bette Midler's Vegas dates as we definitely
wanted to see her whilst we were there).
Robert and Jen looked after our dogs and our home beautifully
- truly lovely people and the dogs adored them.
We had a fabulous trip and then came back to a sparkling clean house
(not my experience with other sitters in the past) and happy and
healthy dogs.
Robert and Jen enjoyed their time in England and visited London and
the surrounding tourist attractions like Windsor Castle, which are
close by. We arranged for a friend to be available to dog sit if
Robert and Jen wanted to be away from the property for more than 6
hours or even overnight,
which worked out well.
I will without doubt be recommending your site to anyone that asks!
Meanwhile I am planning my next trip to Vegas -

Hello and thanks for your reminder of membership renewal.
At this stage I will not renew my membership as I have a house sit
to start in Ireland in April which will take me through to the end
of September and longer if I wish.
I left New Zealand nearly a year ago and have travelled by
way of house sitting, the shortest being 3 weeks and the longest so
far being 5 months. It is a great way to see the world at a pace
that suits me well.
I have been in Ireland and England and made some wonderful friends -
my house sit in Hampshire being 5 months so I have joined a local
golf club. Its been great!
