We are sitting for people up in the Alpine Victorian mountain ranges for three & half weeks over Christmas, New Year and we are looking forward to our first experience.

Hi Danny, We are in the 4th week of our housesit at Deception Bay, Lyn & Trevor are expected back about the 5th November. The house is very clean and tidy, it has everything that we need for cooking etc. the bed is very comfortable. The garden is very low maintenance, some pot plants to water and the lawn to mow. We are enjoying looking around the area.
We have another housesit in December at Aspley Brisbane. We are free again from 10th Jan to 27th February to house sit South coast of NSW, Victoria or Tasmania ....

Hi, We have just had a really good house sit experience and would like to review our sitters...
The S**** family ... from Melbourne sat our place for just over 3 weeks in July.
Ours is a country property, which means challenges such as feeding cows, keeping the fire alight and a rutted drive way. They managed everything really well. They came up for a weekend prior to learn the ropes which was reassuring for us.... very happy .....

We?ve just returned from a delightful housesitting opportunity in Yackandandah. Not only did we enjoy some relaxing time in one of the best of localities but the house was ideal as a ?getaway? for our family and the requirements for maintaining the farm were not onerous. The owners provided detailed, written notes on all the key aspects of looking after the property and we referred to these frequently.
We loved the novelty of having chooks to feed and both our sons formed an immediate bond with a wonderful whippet. Despite the wintry weather, we enjoyed numerous sunny days, relaxing walks and drives and soothing spas under sparkling starry nights.
Thanks for entrusting you home to us, it was a memorable experience for our family.

We feel very lucky to have met Lainey and Paul, two wonderful people that looked after our two dogs and cat December 2013/ January 2014. They looked after our home like it was their own too. Our dogs absolutely loved them. They took them to the beach every day, played with them and even took them out for morning coffee. Most surprising was our cat. She is slow to trust people and is generally quite fussy, they quickly won her trust and she too was smitten by them. We received regular photos and updates which was comforting and reassuring when you are on the other side of the world from your pets....

She came earlier, so we had both the opportunity to know each other, because we lived together for a week. She was friendly, respectful and loved to do the work, which has to be done. She told me, that she is happy, that she can spend several weeks with many animals ...

I recently returned from a trip where I found a house and pet sitter through your organization. His name was Lee Stanley and he was terrific. He took care of my dog and cat, left the house clean, and was a very nice person (I spent a little time with him before and after the trip). We live in Canada and have house sat twice in France and our daughter house sat in Italy for a month one summer.
House Sit World has been a wonderful resource for us. I've looked at other sites, but stuck with HSW because it is clear, concise and free (for both sitters and home owners).
(we do actually now charge for some areas)
We prefer short term house sitting "jobs", so house sat for three weeks near Carcassonne and for three weeks in Normandy...exploring the Cathar castles in the south and the WWII beaches in the north. Both experiences were wonderful...so interesting and exciting to get to know another culture by living it!
Our daughter house sat in Turin, Italy for a month...living in an apartment, looking after a multitude of cats nearby and sometimes having gelato 3 times a day.
House sitting has been a wonderful way for us to travel and I thank House Sit World for giving us the idea and the opportunities. Our lives have been enriched!

My 4 1/2 mths in NZ were wonderful...
I was housesitting in Putaruru 7wks 1 dog and Pirongia near base of extinct Volcano - 2 cats 7 wks. Visited friends in Kawerau who took me on lots sight seeing trips... I met family of my house sitters and in contact by e-mail. Lovely people.

I have now returned from a house-pet sit inland from Bodalla NSW - another amazing place, tucked up in the mountains and valleys. Cosy at night in the mud brick house, with the "firebox" for lovely warmth, and one aged Labrador cuddled up to me on the lounge, satellite TV. Delightful sunny days, with stunning views surrounded by forest, delightfully remote!! They supplied me with a car to explore the area. Such a lovely couple, who went out of their way to make sure I would be happy in their home. More satisfied customers!!

I travelled up with a friend [whole trip over 5.000 ks] taking our leisurely time, and visiting new places on the way.
A delightful young couple, [yet to meet owners that are not!] on a property at Sandy Creek, getting into the mountains. An old house, but cosy and comfortable, wood fire and the most glorious views from the verandah. Be it the heavy fogs blanketing us completely, to stunning sunsets. Best day out was spent in the Jimna area, felt like we were on top of the world...

Its been a very interesting year as a member of housesitworld.
The idea was to house/pet sit while building a new home.
Every home brought a new experience, and some very loveable pets. Its difficult to single any one out, though I must admit to falling in love with an amazing little dog called Molly whom I had many adult conversations with, she would put her head to one side and hang on your every word. Having
the experience of looking after a nine acre property with its rolling hills and beautiful sunsets was to say the least very tranquil. Exploring new places, meeting different people, has expanded my outlook.

Recently I returned from a Qld house sit at Sandy Creek which is near Kilcoy, getting into the mountains. We had delightful weeks in beautiful surroundings. Time also was spent in the mountains at Jimna and Maleny.
Such a pleasure to meet the local people. But we did not spot the Kilcoy Yowie! Though found the Yowie Coffee mobile van in the park.
The owners had not ever tried a house-sitter before, and I believe they were happy with our care. . . .
I had recommended your site again to a friend, she found a willing person at first try, who is willing to house sit for her again in the future...

We are very pleased, too, that we can get short-term housesitters. When I had spoken to agencies in the past I was led to believe that short -term housesitters were not usually available. However, we have found one through your site for a stay of 12 days only, which is great.

House-sitting has been quite an amazing experience for us and I would recommend it to anyone - our only quip is probably that the owners where we stayed never organised any kitchen cupboard space for our goodies, hence we had containers sitting on the floor. There was always linen, bathroom and wardrobe space, but no kitchen cupboard space which I found intriguing.
We may well be on the road again one day and will certainly rejoin your organisation if we do so.

Hi Danny,
I am now the House Director for a sorority Sept- June 10. Love this job and the 60 girls, cook, housekeeper, and grounds man that are my responsibility.
I have been invited back to Australia at least 24 times since my return from Sydney Feb. 2010!
Will be driving to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, June 28 to house sit till Aug 24! My hosts found me through your site.
Also, my best friends from my Sydney house sit are arriving in US Aug. and will stop to see me while on their caravanning trip through the US!

Bob & I enjoyed a very successful Housesit in Killarney Heights, minding two delightful 16yr old cats (brother & sister).
At the beginning of our negotiations, our son was able to visit on our behalf to make personal contact, for both parties benefits. . . We were very warmly welcomed and everything could not have gone more smoothly, making it a pleasure to care for the owners home. I thoroughly got lost in some gardening, this also gave us contact and conversation with neighbors. . .
We have been invited to visit anytime we are in Sydney. . .

Last year I spent time at Clare in a delightful house in very pleasant surroundings. Liked the place so much I actually did a repeat later in the year. As much as they would have liked me to come again they understood that I like to find different places to visit. I noticed they advertised with you again this year, and did find sitters for the time they needed.
I travelled with a friend to Romsey in Victoria, again a great couple in a cosy pleasant house. My friend had never been on a housesit, and was very apprehensive about the whole deal! On meeting the owners and being welcomed, wined and dined with a lovely roast meal, they put her at ease.
She said she did not like dogs, but before very long she had fallen in love with "Thomas". She could not resist his big brown eyes!
Such a pretty area around Mt Macedon, and to see the recovery of the bush and buildings from fierce bushfires.
So I am ready to travel again this year, it will be interesting to see what is offered to me. I continue to direct interested people to your website. A frequent question to me, is "What will it cost?" This is from house owners and the sitters.

Just an update for the site, we have bookings that take us through to February 2012, repeat sits in Aus and a new one (for approximately three months) in Scotland for later this year. The sit on the Isle of Man will be remembered for a long time as we saw all the seasons, green trees & lawns, autumn colours then bare trees with snow clinging to the branches and total ground covering of snow, including the heaviest snowfalls in 40 years on the island.
The Housesitworld site certainly gets a lot of attention.
