Training Workshops in Advanced  Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

Introduction

Over three hundred thousand vaginal sling procedures have now been performed around the world since Petros performed the first intravaginal sling in 1986. The concept of creating neoligaments in the pelvis has now been extended to the posterior vaginal compartment and preliminary results for the posterior intravaginal sling are now being followed by Stage 2 studies and controlled trials.

These workshops have been designed to introduce advanced pelvic surgeons to the concepts of the Integral Theory, surgical techniques and practical experience.

This surgery has the potential to dramatically expand the opportunities for pelvic surgeons to assist their patients with practical procedures that are minimally invasive, efficacious and low in complications and problems.

Options for Training

As a result of the demand for training the Centre for Pelvic Surgery has begun conducting workshops in Pelvic Surgery with support from The Sydney Adventist Hospital Foundation, and the Association of Vaginal and Incontinence Surgeons.
